Job Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal member of the Group’s executive leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial direction and ensuring the long-term financial health and sustainability of the entire conglomerate. This role encompasses leadership of all financial operations, capital market activities, treasury, tax, investor relations, and risk management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the Group Chairman and the Board, driving value creation across our diverse business units.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
Serve as a key strategic advisor to the Group Chairman, Board of Directors, and senior management on all financial and operational matters.
Lead the development and execution of the Group’s long-term financial strategy, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and divestitures to optimize the portfolio.
Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, investment appraisals, and new business initiatives and other operating divisions.
2. Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee all group-level financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all consolidated financial statements in compliance with HKFRS/IFRS and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
3. Capital Markets & Treasury Management:
Develop and execute a comprehensive capital strategy to optimize the Group’s capital structure and cost of capital.
Lead all corporate finance activities, including fundraising (debt and equity), credit rating agency relations, and managing banking partnerships.
Oversee Group treasury functions, including cash flow management, liquidity planning, and foreign exchange risk management.
Manage the financial aspects of the Group’s listed entity.
4. Investor Relations & Corporate Communications:
Act as the primary spokesperson for the Group with the investment community, analysts, and financial media.
Develop and manage a best-in-class investor relations program to effectively communicate the Group’s strategy, performance, and prospects.
Ensure transparency and build strong, trusted relationships with shareholders and potential investors.
5. Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks across the Group.
Ensure full compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) and other relevant bodies.
Oversee the Group’s tax strategy and planning to ensure compliance and efficiency across all jurisdictions.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team across the Group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and collaboration.
Build talent pipelines and ensure the finance organization has the capabilities to support the Group’s future growth.
Job Requirements
Professional Qualification: A qualified accountant (e.g., HKICPA, CPA, ACCA) is mandatory. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Finance) is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or Deputy CFO role within a large, complex organization.
Sector Knowledge: Proven track record in the conglomerate / property development / investment sector is essential.
Capital Markets Expertise: Extensive experience with a listed company on the HKEX, with a deep understanding of listing rules, corporate governance, and investor relations.
M&A and Corporate Finance: Demonstrated success in leading and executing complex M&A transactions, financings, and corporate restructuring.
Leadership: Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire teams and influence at the board level.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential. Mandarin is highly advantageous.
